About Leverkusen

The Leverkusen site is located northeast of Cologne and is part of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Kronos Titan Leverkusen is situated in the Chempark Leverkusen with infrastructural connections to the river Rhine, freeways, railroads and airports. The facility was founded in 1927 producing TiO2 using the sulfate process. An important step forward in 1938/1939 was the first production of a rutile modification of titanium dioxide. Today this facility produces an extensive portfolio of TiO2 grades using the chloride production process.
