About KRONOS Nordenham

The Nordenham facility was founded in 1969. Continuous investments and improvements have expanded the annual TiO2 sulfate production capacity from 40.000 mt when the plant was built to 60.000 mt today. The plant employs 350 people. The Nordenham plant is located in an advantageous area for circular economy and other sustainability opportunities working together with local industry and government authorities.

Highlights

In addition to TiO2, the Nordenham facility produces around 350.000 mt of iron sulfate, a co-product of the sulfate TiO2 manufacturing process.  This product is sold through KRONOS ecochem, which specializes in beneficial co-products and re-use of TiO2 manufacturing materials. Iron sulfate is used to clean waste water. The direct water connection with its own port, through which more than 300,000 mt p.a. of raw materials are sourced, and the proximity to the major German seaports are other major attributes to Nordenham plant’s location.
